Electrical installations and repairs, Electrical Inspections including Landlord inspections
I’m a Domestic Installer Registered with the NICEIC, I cover all sorts of repairs like replacing a socket or switch to replacing a consumer unit.
Got an old wired consumer unit or a newer one but without RCD ( what is and RCD?) protection, its a good idea to upgrade to one of these for both electrical shock and fire protection.
Surge Protection Devices (SPD’s)(What are SPD’s?) are now recommended for all installations, these protect against over voltage on the incoming supply from electrical faults or lighting. These will protect electronic devices against surges which can damage them such and broadband routers, TV’s, computers, Phone chargers, smart devices.
Smoke Alarms and Carbon Monoxide Alarms fitted and replaced ( why replace smoke alarms?). Smoke Alarms should be replaced every 10 years from date of manufacture.
Lighting repaired – Got a table, standard wall or ceiling lamp that doesn’t work any more, could be the cable, bulb holder or switch that’s the problem most of these are fixable that way you get to keep your favourite light or not have to replace a set of lights.
